About Me
My name is Richard Sable and I live in Vista, California. I am currently a teacher candidate at Cal State University San Marcos in the process of earning my Social Science Single Subject teaching credential. In 2014, I graduated from Azusa Pacific University earning a BA in Social Science. After graduating I have gained experience in the classroom as a substitute teacher, teaching both middle and high school age groups. If there is one thing I have learned about history it is that it isn't just about dates and dead people. but the story we all take part in and the chapters we write while we are here. What makes me so passionate about history is that I see it as an exciting story that is constantly being penned, it is a true story, and we are all characters; our characters are only as significant as we choose to make them. I also encourage students to never think you "finish learning." Never stop learning!
Before finishing my Bachelor's Degree, I spent four years and some change in the United States Army stationed at Ft. Drum, NY as part of the 10th Mountain Division and was deployed on one 15-month tour to Iraq. I am proud to have served my country and in response to "Thank you," I simply say, "You're worth it!" And that's the same way I feel about every student who crosses my path.
